Intermediate Electrical Engineer 

Kozar Engineering Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our growing, dynamic team in our Thunder Bay or Red Lake office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the preparation, interpretation and review of design calculations, specifications, plans and reports for electrical systems,
  • Preparing and/or reviewing electrical engineering documentation including, low & medium voltage distribution systems, power distribution centres, motor control centres, DC battery systems, lighting design, fire alarm & life safety systems and network & communication systems
  • Assisting in document preparation, including but not limited to reports, tender documents and proposals;
  • Working closely with electrical designers to provide input and guidance;
  • Conducting site investigations and field work in industrial settings as required; and
  • Communicating with project managers, engineers, clients and various suppliers.

Interested parties should have the following skills and credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university;
  • Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario (mandatory requirement)
    • Additional licenses in other jurisdictions would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of five years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and Canadian Electrical Code;
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; and
  • Valid class G driver’s license.

Electrical Engineer in Training

Kozar Engineering Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Training  to join our growing, dynamic team in our Thunder Bay or Red Lake office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the preparation, interpretation and review of design calculations, specifications, drawings and reports for electrical systems.
  • Preparing and/or reviewing electrical engineering documentation including, equipment lists, bills of materials, control narratives, and process flow diagrams.
  • Assisting in document preparation, including but not limited to reports, tender documents and proposals.
  • Reviewing and applying applicable codes to the design of electrical systems.
  • Working closely with electrical designers to provide input and guidance.
  • Working directly with electrical engineer for mentorship.
  • Conducting site investigations and field work in industrial settings as required.
  • Communicating with project managers, engineers, clients and various suppliers.

Interested parties should have the following skills and credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid class G driver’s license.
  • AutoCAD skills an asset.

Intermediate Designer 

We are currently seeking to hire a Designer/CAD Technician to work in our Thunder Bay or Red Lake, Ontario office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two – five (2 to 5) years experience in any of the following disciplines; mechanical, architectural or structural with industrial experience.

This employee’s tasks will include:

  • Assist the design team in 3D model and drawing development
  • Provide input to estimates and proposals
  • Review drawings & other engineering documents
  • Create and revise Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Maintaining a CAD library
  • Develop solutions to problems in industrial settings
  • Complete field work, primarily in industrial settings

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Engineering Technician Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 – 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Must have experience using AutoCAD and 3D modelling. Ceasar, FEA, Revit, Microstation software experience is a benefit.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and leadership abilities demonstrated through employment experience.
  • Strong analytical, computer, and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid Class G drivers license.
